Anyone insured with any other body will still need to be insured with CA to ride in this Event. This is a mandatory process by CA. Your safety is our absolute priority.

By participating in a Cycling Australia sanctioned Event you acknowledge and accept the risk associated with cycling on open roads and engage in the Event at your own risk. Cycling and cycle racing can be considered inherently dangerous activities which can result in injury due to an act or omissions of the rider, other riders, other vehicles, spectators, other obstacles and track and road conditions. Whilst all reasonable care is taken by organisers and officials when organising the Event, all participating cyclists have an equal responsibility to ensure they take all reasonable care in adhering to the NSW road rules and other conditions imposed by Police and/or officials to help ensure a safe race environment for all concerned.

Be Fit Be Healthy Be Safe

To give riders the best and safest experience when riding on public roads, riders should be fit and healthy and have peloton road riding experience. Riders are required to ride in groups (called pelotons) at an agreed average speed, with a baseline level of fitness. The baseline for this Event has been set at 24kms/h. Achieving baseline is simply about spending a few hours a week on your bike and committing to training each week to increase your levels of training as the Event draws near. Take a look at a suggested training program for this ride some tips on how to ride safely in a peloton.

Training Resources

Peloton Speeds

Riders will be placed into 1 of 3 pelotons. The options available will be:

  1. 28K an hour
  2. 26K an hour

Riders can move between pelotons throughout the Event but not throughout the day. All riders will be graded into one of these groups before the Event. If anyone has a concern about the format of the ride and or rider fitness and experience levels, contact Kent Williams Kent@entoure.com.au or Ph 0414 981028. Kent is the founder and director of Entoure who will manage the logistics of the ride.
